Over the years I've thought about so many things and worried so much, I've wondered why people do the things they do and why people are so cruel. I felt for a time things were getting better in the world, but in the past couple years (especially in my country) I've seen so much hate being spread around like sickness. However, it's comforting to know that my loved ones share the same ideals and beliefs as I do, and not only them, but I've seen that many other people in the world feel the same way. I want to put out little messages of hope into the universe, I want other people to realize what I discovered as well. That even though life can be difficult, it can be so wonderful. That there are good people in the world. There is goodness all around us if we take the time to notice, even if it's just something small. I want to say that, although life is hard, don't give up. There were many times that I wanted to give up and I'm thankful every single day that I didn't. I have been so blessed to have the love I have in my life and to share my life with those people, and to have even been brought together with them in the first place. I am so grateful for my two guys and my four cats and I don't know where I'd be without them, but I want to show them I love them every moment I can. I am thankful for every second I share with the people I love and for every second that I'm alive, and every hardship I ever went through has been worth it because of the love I have today. I hope that this message reaches and helps other people in some way, and if you ever feel down just remember not to give up because there is beauty in the world and there is kindness and love, even when it's hard to see it.
I also wanted to share some more positivity here. Music has always been something that helped me through hard times. First, I've shared two songs by Utada below, one of my favorite singers and known for the themes for KINGDOM HEARTS. My loves and I recently completed the series of games in time for the release of KINGDOM HEARTS III, and Utada's themes for the new game "Don't Think Twice" and "Face My Fears" have become two of my all time favorite songs. The lyrics are emotional and meaningful, and they've helped me a lot. Second, my love Suzuran introduced me to the singer MARINA a couple years ago. She's releasing a new album this month, and I felt that many of the songs from it expressed very positive messages and coincided with many of my feelings, so I thought they would be perfect to share here. Earlier today I replied on YouTube to the song explanation on her newest music video "To Be Human". I felt I was able to express some of my deepest values in my comment and I wanted to share this message with as many people as possible:
" I hope humans can learn to love one another, regardless of where we come from, what we look like, or who we love. We're all different but we're all the same, and I think that's a beautiful thing and I believe our differences actually make the world a more beautiful place, I wish more people could see that. I hope we can also come to love the earth we share and the other lives and animals we share it with. That is what I pray and hope for each day."
Below, I've shared links to "To Be Human" and some of these other insightful songs from MARINA. If you click on the videos and take a look at their YouTube pages Marina has shared lyrics and the inspirations behind these tracks and videos. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I have and that they will bring you hope as well.
Utada & Skrillex's song "Face My Fears" really inspired me. As the title suggests, it helped me to feel confident to face my own fears, to try and get over some of my depression and anxiety and to live my life. Really, the entire story of the Kingdom Hearts series has also helped to give me confidence to live my life to the fullest.
- The entire KINGDOM HEARTS video game series (which portrays different kinds of love and perseverance)
- The Anime series InuYasha (a long time favorite of mine that always brings a smile to my face and also portrays perseverance and relatable characters)
- SAILOR MOON 1992, R, S & Super S (The original anime, one of Suzuran's favorites. The show is generally very light hearted and fun, and includes a fairly diverse cast of characters in the original Japanese version)
- Drag Race Thailand Season 2 (I was incredibly surprised and impressed when I watched this competition show. Many of the contestants and judges showed such kindness, support, and acceptance of people's differences)
In the future I will continue to use this site (which I've had for more than half of my life now) for not only what it was originally started for - which was sharing my creations from The Sims games - but also for sharing other pieces of my life, the positive things, and for sending out these little messages of hope into the world.
